Official partnership wine "Vino ufficiale del gemellaggio"

Since 2009, Sangiovese di Romagna D.O.C. has crowned the living twinning of the municipality of Hofbieber with the Unione Montana Acquacheta as the official partnership wine. A special feature that has become a success story.

In the heart of Romagna, where tradition is marked by the glorious heritage of wine culture, the art of winemaking is cultivated with ambition and passion. With the same passion, the Intesa wineries pursue their own goal of high quality as the fruit of wise and complex work, and of a gifted soil. The hilly area around Faenza is the centre of production. Especially in this area, the best vineyards are selected for their exposure to the sun, for the soil and for the characteristics of the grape variety. Here, thanks to the care and zeal of the winegrowers, the high quality grapes of the Intesa Winery are harvested.

The product made from pure Sangiovese grapes is cellared and bottled especially for us in the Cantina Intesa in Modigliana (FC). The fermentation takes place in steel barrels and the wine is refined in the bottle for two months. The Sangiovese has an intense ruby red colour with violet reflections and aromas of cherry, wild berries and violets.

An all-round harmonious wine that has become the unifying product of the two regions. Many people give themselves this extraordinary gift on special occasions to say thank you, but also because Sangiovese wine tastes great - not only to us in the municipality of Hofbieber.

The Vino del gemellaggio is available exclusively at the Piazza Unione Montana Acquacheta in the EDEKA Markt Fleck, Morleser Straße 11, in 36145 Hofbieber.

At this point we would like to thank the owner André Fleck, with whom we have been working closely and personally since the beginning of the twinning. For every bottle of wine sold, he donates 10% of the sales price to the Freundeskreis Italien e.V. to support the community partnership.
